Hiking in the Bernau mountain valley

The most beautiful mountain valley in the Southern Black Forest nature reserve offers something for nature-lovers, walkers, sporty guests and those who quietly enjoy. Enjoy discovering Bernau along 114km of walking routes, in the valley, in the mountains and at the summits.

The 1,415m high Herzogenhorn is outstanding in every way, as hiking destination and as a mountain offering amazing views across the 8km long Bernau mountain valley, into the Black Forest valleys, to the Feldberg, to the Belchen and even to the snow covered tops of the Alps. Those who want to enjoy this mountain, it’s untouched nature and its views have to start hiking.

Hiking - health treatment in nature: exercise in mountain air is naturally healthy and gives you a new lease of life. A break with a variety of hams and bacon from your rucksack or a stop in a guesthouse is also part of the nature experience. The Panorama route offers the most views of all Bernau walking routes and is one of the most beautiful in the High Black Forest. The 1294m high Krunkelbach-Hütte (cabins) is one of the most popular hiking destinations.
