Snowshoe tours to the Herzogenhorn
The allure of snowshoe walking:
In the past snowshoes were only associated with solitary people with husky dogs in the lonely wilderness. In the last winters however more and more walkers, who didn’t want to go without the fresh air experience in the great outdoors, have discovered the advantages of snowshoes. The showshoes offered an alternative to frustratingly wading through hip-high deep snow or staying in front of the fire: with snowshoes you can walk over the untouched snow relatively effortlessly.
More and more often skiers use snowshoes when the snow conditions don’t enable a reasonable tour and the snowboarders use them to reach the top and then pack them in their rucksack for the way down. Parents show their children fascinating winter landscapes, which they could never reach without showshoes.
Curious? Try it!
“If you can walk, you can use snowshoes!”
Every weekend in winter we offer supervised and guided snowshoe walks on the subalpine Herzogenhorn. At 1415m above sea level it is the second-highest Black Forest and low mountain range summit in Germany. In bad weather it offers an almost alpine winter adventure and in good weather it offers a range of viewpoints displaying a fantastic view to the central Alps, from the Zugspitze across to Mont Blanc.
