The chapel in Kaiserhaus

The chapel in Kaiserhaus, Bernau im SchwarzwaldThe chapel at the foot of the Kaiserberg is the newest of the five chapels and along with the chapel in Hof is situated at the highest altitude. The chapel is located at 930m at a beautiful spot with vast views across the Bernau valley.

The chapel was consecrated in 1953 and built to honour the holy family. The altarpiece shows the holy family as the protector of the Bernau valley throughout the year on a platinum golden base.
The two wooden figures to the left and right of the altar (Virgin Mary and St. Zyriak, one of the fourteen holy helpers) are from the Beuron art school.
The chapel in the Kaiserhaus district is the only chapel with an electrical ring of bells and every day the the small bells rings punctually at 06:30, midday at 12:00 and in the evening at 20:00 during the summer months; in winter, when it is darker earlier the bell rings at 17:00.
