The Schluchtensteig
With a length of 118km the Schluchtensteig runs from Stühlingen through the Wutachschlucht to Lenzkirch and to the Schluchsee, passes the St Blasien Abbey, crosses over the smooth plateaus of Dachsberg and Ibach and winds from Todtmoos through the wild romantic Wehra valley to its end in Wehr.
Gorges and flumes, waterfalls and lakes, highland moors, meadows covered with flowers and pastures, bright green forests and dark fir tree forests line the certified “Wanderbares Deutschland“ path on its way from the Wutach river to the Wehra river.
It is not a pure valley path - just the opposite. At regular intervals cliffs and mountain summits are visible. Again and again views open up over the gorges already discovered or the ones ahead. Sometimes the Feldberg is visible over the tops of the Black Forest mountains, and sometimes the glacier Swiss Alps mountains, which open up all along to the south invite the eyes and not the feet to wander over the beautiful scenery.
